Sciatica... What a pain in the backside...! This is a big one... And it's something I've had to treat quite a lot recently.

Sciatica is the description of the feeling of numbness/burning/weakness, that originate at the lower back and radiate to the buttock and down the leg. Sciatica is just a symptom, most causes include: - herniated/prolapsed disc - degenerative disc disease... - other lumbar back issues - piriformis syndrome - sacroiliac joint pain

The sciatic nerve is the single largest nerve in the body, so with that in mind, it is understandable that the pain experienced when a disc or muscle is affecting this nerve, is excruciating. Although symptoms are usually similar, it can affect people in different ways.

Sciatica tends to occur over time unfortunately, but, with a course of treatment, it can go with good results in a few weeks/months, IF you are consistent with treatment and rehab.

As a sports massage therapist, we look to release the tight muscles as well as prescribing the correct exercises to alleviate pain. **DO NOT WAIT FOR THESE SYMPTOMS TO GET WORSE.** See someone ASAP, don't just sit and Google treatments or home remedies, get this sorted by a professional!!! ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
